In this 15-hour asynchronous course, participants will explore Denise Eide's book Uncovering the Logic of English: A Common Sense Approach to Reading, Spelling and Literacy. Participants will love learning about the logical patterns that can be found in 98% of English words.
This course provides clear, straightforward explanations to common spelling questions, including:
Why does have end with a silent final e?
Why is the e retained in noticeable?
Why is discussion spelled with -sion instead of -tion?
As the principles are introduced, participants gain an understanding of how this knowledge can support stronger literacy instruction and help address ongoing educational challenges.
