The Science of Reading for Multilingual Learners Toolkit

As part of the NYSED P-20 Literacy Initiative, the Office of Bilingual Education and World Languages created the Science of Reading for Multilingual Learners Toolkit. The Toolkit presents research on teaching literacy to ELLs and MLs, and provides guidance on how to put these ideas into practice.

In this five-week, self-paced online course, participants will explore the Toolkit and related resources to deepen their understanding of evidence-based literacy instruction. By the end of the course, participants will be equipped to leverage students' linguistic and cultural assets and to implement literacy practices that are inclusive, equitable, and effective for our multilingual learners.
