Lindsay Armbruster </br> Teacher Leadership Coach for Health and Physical Education

LINDSAY ARMBRUSTER
TEACHER LEADERSHIP COACH FOR HEALTH AND PHYSICAL EDUCATION

Lindsay Armbruster is a health teacher at O'Rourke Middle School in Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake CSD. She also serves as a building technology coordinator, a member of the district's Professional Learning Committee, a mentor to new teachers, and member of the building Character Education and Writing Across the Curriculum committees. Lindsay has a BS in School & Community Health Education from SUNY Brockport and an MS in Curriculum Design & Instructional Technology from the University at Albany. She is currently earning a second MS in Library Media (Teacher Librarian) at St. John Fisher University. Lindsay has been recognized by NYSAHPERD and SHAPE America as a Health Teacher of the Year and has worked as an adjunct instructor at Russell Sage College's Esteves School of Education in the Professional Education Program, working with future health and physical education teachers. In addition to her 18 years in K-12 classrooms, Lindsay is a frequent provider of professional learning for educators in all subject areas and has authored and contributed to a number of health education texts. Lindsay is a distinguished educator and expert mentor for the Modern Classrooms Project, an international organization that trains and supports teachers in an instructional model that integrates self-paced, mastery-based, and blended instruction. Other certifications held by Lindsay include: Google Certified Educator, a PearDeck Coach, and a Certified BrainPOP Educator. Lindsay has also worked as the School Health Education Specialist for a private consulting firm on curriculum/lesson development projects on topics such as skills-based health education, body positivity with the Dove Self-Esteem Project, environmental health, and youth mental health challenges with Erika's Lighthouse. Outside of school, Lindsay serves as a coordinator and coach for the Scotia-Glenville Youth Field Hockey program and serves as a board member of a local swim club, focusing her efforts mostly on youth programming including a junior swim team.
