Greater Capital Region Teacher Center in collaboration with CASDA and WSWHE BOCES, is proud to present the 2013 Great Teacher Academy. The GTA has been described as an eye-opening professional development experience. This intensive professional learning brings the best of teacher- driven inquiry and practice to the big issues facing educators.
In the four days of the GTA 2013 educators will explore, analyze and develop curriculum plans around rigorous, literacy- rich curriculum, content, and assessments that align with current expectations around the Common Core State Standards. Teachers will leave the academy with both enhanced professional skills and guided experience analyzing CCSS exemplar modules. Participants will also develop articulated Action Plans to adapt an exemplar module or to create their own-through collaboration and guided inquiry-during the sessions.
Facilitators are experienced teachers and educators who have significant expertise in the CCSS, alignment of curriculum and assessment, and providing high-quality professional development.
Dates: July 18-19; August 20-21, 2013
Times: 8:30 a.m.- 3:30 p.m. each day
