TEACHER LEADERSHIP COACH FOR SPECIAL EDUCATION

Elizabeth Daley works to support students with disabilities and their families as a special education leader. Liz focuses on pedagogy designed to give students the opportunity to learn and practice independence in skills and decision making. She works to create meaningful parent engagement, and build systems to support collaboration between stakeholders. Liz is an advocate for students and teachers as a National Board Certified Teacher and through her roles as the Teacher Leadership Coach for Special Education at the Greater Capital Region Teacher Center and the President for the Council for Exceptional Children (CEC). She is certified by New York State to teach Special Education, Elementary Education and English 7-12. As a Teacher Leadership Coach, she facilitates regional professional learning experiences for Special Education teachers and for Teaching Assistants. She has written curriculum for certificate extension pathways and designed courses that support evidence-based practices in special education, teaching partnerships and teacher mentoring.
