Crystal Griffith is the Director of Workforce Development and Education at The Business Council of New York State, Inc., the state’s largest business advocacy organization. In this role, she leads cross-sector partnerships, manages statewide coalitions, and develops strategic policy initiatives to align workforce development, education systems, and employer needs across New York.

With over a decade of experience spanning K-12 education, higher education, non-profit leadership, and public policy, Crystal has cultivated a diverse and impactful career. Prior to joining The Business Council, she contracted with the New York State Department of Health’s Bureau of Early Intervention, where she supported quality improvement initiatives across three regions. She has held roles in elementary education and higher education, where she designed and delivered professional development for students, educators, and administrators alike.

Crystal has also served in advisory roles for the New York State Education Department, the Governor’s Child Care Availability Task Force, and the State Workforce Investment Board, advocating for inclusive, equitable, and future-ready education and workforce systems.

Originally from Brooklyn, Crystal earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Education and her Master’s in Social Welfare from the University at Albany (SUNY). She also holds certifications in Non-Profit Management, Trauma and Crisis Management, and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. She currently resides in New York’s Capital Region, where she continues to champion policies that support student success, economic mobility, and workforce innovation.
