Winter/Spring '26 - Mentor: An Institute in Practical Educational Science

JANUARY 2026 - MAY 2026

This option gives participants an opportunity to hone their skills in assessment design, identifying practical learning goals, designing rubrics, and providing professional learning through supervision and evaluation of the work of the incoming cohort. Participants will mentor a group of up to two members of the next IPES cohort in developing their practical capacities as educational scientists by supporting them in meeting milestones, providing written feedback on milestone submissions, and serving as observers and evaluators of reliability studies.

Mentors will support teachers during the summer workshop from July 14th through the 18th. Mentors will supervise and evaluate a maximum of two new IPES teachers over the course of the school year.
