Reflective Practices for Teacher Resilience and Excellence

Decades of research on teacher learning-from Dewey to Kolb and Schön-show that reflection, not experience alone, is what turns years in the classroom into real expertise.

This asynchronous, facilitator-paced, 15-hour course teaches educators to use structured critical reflection to build resilience and sharpen instructional practice, entirely on their own schedule. Across five modules, participants learn and apply four field-tested reflection models.

By the end of the course, participants will be able to select and apply the reflective model that best fits a given situation, use double-loop questioning to surface and test the assumptions behind recurring classroom challenges, and engage in structured, non-evaluative reflective dialogue with colleagues. Participants leave with a personalized Individual Reflective Practice Plan for sustaining the habit long after the course ends. Critical reflection is a skill, not a personality trait-and this course gives that skill a repeatable structure, turning difficult days into growth rather than burnout.

This course uses Google Classroom, no text is required. Facilitator will contact participants one week before the course begins.
