Percussion Day at SUNY Schenectady
Percussion Day at SUNY Schenectady will offer music educators and their percussion students the opportunity to attend masterclasses with noted percussionists including Nachiko Maekane, Andrew Janack, Bob Halek and SUNY Schenectady School of Music faculty. Registration for Percussion Day is free and will include three concurrent masterclasses for teachers, drum set students and percussion students, followed by sessions on college audition preparations, practice tips, percussion ensemble experiences, and a performance.
The schedule is as follows:
Saturday, October 18, 2025; 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Location: SUNY Schenectady, School of Music Building
9:00 a.m. - Welcome and Faculty Performance
9:30 a.m. - Masterclass Session I
10:20 a.m. - Masterclass Session II
11:10 a.m. - Masterclass Session III
12:00 p.m. - Lunch (please bring your lunch)
12:45 p.m. - College audition preparation/Practice tips for percussionists
1:15 p.m. - Percussion ensemble experience & sectional rehearsals
2:30 p.m. - Full ensemble rehearsal and performance
