Book Study: Supporting Student Mental Health: Essentials for Teachers

In this timely study of the book, Supporting Student Mental Health: Essentials for Teachers, by Michael Haas and Amy Ardell, you'll gain foundational knowledge and ready-to-use strategies to support your students' mental health. This course equips all staff, including teaching assistants, with concrete tools you can implement immediately while building your confidence to recognize and respond to student mental health needs in today's classroom.

Participation in this class includes asynchronous assignments through schoology for 13 CTLE hours. An additional 2 CTLE hours are dedicated to Suicide Safety Training for Educators through a partnership with NYSUT. This training takes places in-person at NYSUT in Latham on August 18th at 9AM. If this is a hardship, we can offer the training via zoom simultaneously.

Facilitators will contact participants one week before the course begins with details for setting up a schoology account and accessing course materials.

NOTE: Participants are responsible for securing their own copy of the book.
