Jessica Short is a teacher for the City School District of Albany, currently teaching 4th grade at Pine Hills Elementary School. She is certified in the Pre-K to 6th grade levels, and has taught at multiple grade levels throughout her career. Jessica is proud to have previously served as the district-wide Mathematics Coach for elementary education teachers, and as the Teacher-Coordinator for the STEMinista summer program for 3rd grade girls.

Jessica is a National Board Certified Early Childhood Generalist and has been a Candidate Support Provider for the past 10 years. In her role with the National Board Council of NY, she creates and leads professional development curriculum for teacher leadership, with a focus on race and equity in education.

Jessica received a Master’s degree in Child Development and Early Childhood Education from Wheelock College, after receiving her Bachelor’s degree from LeMoyne College. She has also received a Certificate in Advance Studies from Union College in Teacher Leadership. This certificate allowed her to serve as a mentor within the City School District of Albany. Jessica is excited to contribute to the essential work of the Greater Capital Region Teacher Center Policy Board.
