FREE bus trip to Teachers College free PD day in NYC this Sat Oct 18th

Through a collaboration with Schenectady TC, GCRTC Teachers are invited to join in the bus trip to Teachers' College, Columbia University, NYC, for an entire day of no cost professional learning with other Capital Region teachers!

> About the day...
> Twice a year the Reading and Writing Project at Columbia Teachers’ College offers a full day of FREE professional development sessions. The Reading and Writing Project at Columbia offers a full day of workshops on a variety of topics and a variety of grade levels.This free PD is offered from 9am-3pm at Columbia Teachers’ College in NYC.There are over 140 workshops on topics such as: argument writing, embedding historical fiction in nonfiction text sets, opinion writing for very young writers, managing workshop instruction, aligning instruction to the CCSS, using performance assessments to ratchet up the level of teaching, phonics instruction, and more!

> Location/Date/Time: The PD is on Saturday, October 18, from 9-3.We will meet in the Schenectady High School parking lot (off McClellan) at 4:45 am with the bus leaving promptly at 5:00 am.We will leave NYC at 4:30 pm to return to the high school parking lot at 8:00 pm.
> Fee: We just ask that you contribute a $5 gratuity for our bus driver. This is a first come, first serve and there are only a handful of seats left!
